PROFESSOR OTTO POERTZEL. A finely modelled bisque nude by Prof. Otto Poertzel, c1910. Height 11.75 inches. Signed `O Poertzel` to the top of the base and with porcelain factory marks to the underside. Poertzel became one of the most prominent German sculptors of the period. He shared a studio with F Preiss in Berlin and produced many high quality bronze and ivory figures in similar style which are much sought after today.

An 18th century mahogany chest on chest, with Greek key cornice over a blind fret band, the whole restored and given chased gilt bronze handles by Edwards & Roberts. The upper section with two short and three long graduated drawers, the base with three long drawers, the upper of which is stamped with the restorer`s/retailer`s name Edwards & Roberts and a tablet giving their Wardour Street address. Width 42 ins., height 73 1/2 ins.
A good scale model group, "Models of Three Racing Boats, consisting of a 4-oar`d, pair-oar`d and skulling boat. Fitted with sliding seats, swivel rowlocks and steering gear. Scale 1" to the foot. Made by Frances J. Hall, 10 Dorset Place, Vauxhall Bridge Road, Pimlico" The models with skull and trestles on a pitch pine moulded display board with brass ball feet. Sold together with The Richmond Surrey Industrial Exhibition bronze medal by Wyon, awarded to F. J. Hall for this model, dated 1881.
