Jon Buck (British, b. 1951):'The Embrace', bronze, signed & stamped to the base, of light green patination, height 46 cm. Note: Jon Buck studied at Nottingham & Manchester Art Schools. He was a Fellow in Sculpture at Cheltenham College of Art & the first Artist in Residence for Thamesdown Borough Council in 1983. He is a Member of the Royal West of England Academy & a Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. Buck has completed many public commissions including 'Embracing the Sea' for Deal, Kent, 'Returning to Embrace' for Canary Wharf in London, 'In the Swim' for West Quay Centre, Southampton & 'Ship to Shore' for Portishead Quays. His work is regularly exhibited both in UK & abroad & is held in many public & private collections.
A rare and fine French gilt bronze sub miniature carriage clock, 19th century, from the Breguet Workshop, Paris, circa 1880, the satin gilt bronze case set with bevelled glass, and rectangular glass panel above, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, and minutes outside, with typical Breguet blued hands, platform lever escapement signed and numbered to the back plate 'Breguet' and '2133', clock 4 by 4 by 7cm, with original leather carry box and key, 6 by 6 by 8cm.
