The body is decorated with brown and red plumage and a black tail.This piece has been precisely dated having undergone Thermo Luminescence analysis by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. Jewellery decorated with snakes, appeared in Western Asia from about the eighth century BC, and spread to Greece in the fifth century BC, and came to Egypt mainly with the Ptolemaic Dynasty. Ca. 100-300 ADA cast-bronze oil lamp. The elegant formed handle conjoins the lamp to the foot with a curved rounded handle forming a straight handle to the foot. The foot is conical shaped tapering into a narrow body decorated with a central raised rounded rib, either side of this, are two sets of three lines running parallel around the body. The tapering body connects to a round lamp with three nozzles with raised rims.
