Medieval Bronze Leash Swivel. Circa 15th - 16th century. Size: 47.01 mm. A leash swivel formed of two tapering rectangular loops with wide heavy bases joined by a bar allowing them to move independently. Medieval Door Key. Circa 13th - 14th century AD. Size: 90.74 mm. A large bronze key with a circular bow, detailed with a knop at the top and two small projections before the collar joins the shank. The shank is hollow with a two piece bit, each with four teeth. Ref: Mills, Medieval Artefacts. p.74, 75.
Celtic Bronze Lynch Pin Terminal. Circa, 1st century BC. Size: 36.05 x 26.99 mm. A heavy cast bronze terminal originally attached to a large iron pin for securing wheel hubs to chariots. This example is simply decorated with a circular recessed panel on the up side of the body and three more on the semi-circular face plate. Medieval Bronze Seal Matrix. Circa 14th century AD. Size: 20.37 mm. A cast copper-alloy chess-piece type seal matrix with a round face, tampered neck and integral suspension loop. The face of the seal is detailed with a two legged beast walking right with its head turned back and the legend. +CREDE FERENTI. "believe the bearer". Ref: B. Pateman, Collecting Seals. p.97.
Medieval Bronze Seal Matrix. Circa 14th century AD. Size: H. 27.48 mm, seal face: 23.45 x 18.80 mm. A cast copper-alloy chess-piece type seal matrix with an oval base and octagonal tampered neck with a stepped collar below the suspension loop. The seal face is detailed with the image of a crowned seated figure with a long cross to the right beside a palm fond and the legend. +S' AVNTAM ENEDREIA. The legend is as yet untranslated. Cox Esq by Messrs de Dion Bouton 1907 Ltd, January 1910 *This is a 4.5 inch chemical shell, made by and presented by DD Dion Bouton 1907 Ltd. in January 1919, just after the end of the First World War. De Dion Bouton were the largest car manufacturers in the world at the turn of the 1900s, producing 400 cars and 3,200 engines and as such have a huge motoring provenance.
