FREDERIC REMINGTON, auch SACKRIDER REMINGTON Canton/New York 1861 - 1909 Ridgefield Connecticut: Bronco Buster. Bronze mit brauner Patina mit Marmorsockel in Anlehnung an die gleichnamige, um 1895 entstandenen Bronze von Remington, jedoch ohne Peitsche in der rechten Hand des Reiters. Mit dem Namenszug. Höhe: 59 cm. Breite: 45 cm. Tiefe: 26,5 cm (Sämtlich einschließlich Sockel). Frederic Remington machte sich zuerst einen Namen als Maler und Illustrator mit Motiven aus dem Wilden Westen, die weite Verbreitung fanden. Ab ca. 1895 modellierte der Künstler 22 detailgenaue Reiterplastiken. Von diesen Klein-Bronzen, die er in den folgenden Jahren in kleiner Auflage in Zusammenarbeit mit der damals führenden Bronzegießerei Roman Bronze Works im Wachsausschmelzverfahren schuf, zählte vor allem der „Bronco Buster“ mit der Darstellung eines Cowboy, der ein sich aufbäumendes Wildpferd (Bronco) zureitet, zu den gesuchtesten Werken. Posthum wurden nach den Motiven seiner Bronzen zahlreiche Güsse angefertigt, die sich meist in Details vom Original unterscheiden. [bg]

LASZLO SZABO Debrecen/Ungarn 1917 - 1984 Ravanel/Oise: Abstrakte Komposition. Bronze mit goldbrauner Patina mit Plinthe und Sockel. Mit dem Namenszug und Ortsbezeichnung „Paris“ in der Plinthe. Höhe: 119 cm; Breite: 21,5 cm; Tiefe: 21,5 cm (sämtlich einschl. Sockel). Mit kleiner Kratzspur sowie Bereibung am Rand der Plinthe. Szabó studierte nach seiner Flucht aus Ungarn an der Kunstschule in Genf bei M. Weber und H. Koenig. Durch den Erhalt eines Stipendiums hielt sich der Künstler ab 1947 in Paris auf, wo sich sein plastisch gestaltetes Atelier, die sog. Académie du Feu, zu einem Treffpunkt und Arbeitsplatz für bis zu 15 Künstler entwickelte. Ab 1949 stellte Szabó regelmäßig im Salon de la Jeune Sculpture aus, ab 1951 auch im Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Seine erste Einzelausstellung hatte Szabó 1953 in der Galerie Breteau, Paris. Sein Werk umfasst neben Fruchtbarkeitsidolen, Lebensbäumen und anthropomorphen Gestalten auch Vögel und Fische. Szabó verstand die Bildhauerei als Vordeutung auf eine neuartige organische Architektur. Wuchernde Naturformen und stilisierte, an mythologische Motive anknüpfende Elemente vereinen sich zu einer fantastisch anmutenden Gesamtkomposition, deren Hauptcharakteristikum die runde, sanft fließende Linienführung ist. Werke im öffentlichen Raum befinden sich u.a. in München im Olympischen Dorf, in Mannheim vor der Kunsthalle sowie in Mainz und Wiesloch. [bg]

Expl. 184/1000. Mit dem Monogramm und Namenszug sowie Prägestempel von Venturi Arte an den Füßen. Höhe (einschl. Marmorsockel): 55,5 cm. Breite: 10 cm. Tiefe 12 cm. Mit leichten bzw. winzigen Kratzspuren. Silberpatina etwas korrodiert. Die ersten Exemplare der Auflage erhielten eine silberfarbene Patina, danach wurde der Schwan goldfarben patiniert. [ms]

GERNOT RUMPF Kaiserslautern 1941 - tätig in Neustadt/Weinstr.: Elwetritsche - Spitzmaus auf Apfel - Weinbergschnecken auf Säule. 3 Bronzen mit bräunlicher Patina. Sämtlich mit dem Monogramm, Bronze 3 mit dem geprägten Namenszug und Bronze 1 mit dem „Guss S“-Prägerstempel der Kunstgießerei Strehle, Winhöring/München. Höhe: 9-12 cm. Breite: 7,5-13 cm Tiefe: 6-8 cm. Bronze 2 mit stellenweise durch die Herstellung bedingten, weißen Gipsspuren. Der aus einer Kaiserslauterer Bildhauerfamilie stammende Gernot Rumpf studierte 1964-70 Bildhauerei an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in München. In seinem plastischen Oeuvre finden sich immer wieder humoristische Tierdarstellungen. [bg]
