A Japanese bronze censer, Meiji period, modelled as a stork looking towards the heavens, its beak open to reveal a tongue, the plumed back removing to an open body, standing upon a lily pad, 54.8cmAn old break/repair to the neck. The cover missing a small catch, although this doesn't overly affect it. A casting error to the rear of the lower body resulting in a large hole. A small hole in the rear of the lily pad. Evidence that both legs may/may not have been reattached to the body at some point. Regardless of the faults this remains an attractive item.

A good pair of Japanese bronze usubata, Meiji period, the petal shape top cast in low relief with swimming carp and one with lily pads, each with an apron of manji, the slender supports with hawks upon a branch over a writhing dragon base, the underside of the support with signature, 28cm high, 23.5cm diameter.Qty: (2)The usubata with the hawk peering down has a slight lean at the top and the dragon is missing two claws. The other usubata appears to be in good order with no obvious losses.
