A pair of late 19th century French gilt bronze and onyx pedestal garniture urns and covers, the baluster urns having lion mask mounts supporting floral swags, h.24.5cm.Plinth width 9cm.Gilt bronze excellent and condition.Covers good.Edges of bases with some very minor chips/nibbles.Both stand well.Very good examples.
A Japanese late Edo period (1615-1868) bronze standing model of an Oni holding a twin decorated engraved urn upon his head, with loincloth to midriff, raised on integral rouge marble canted base, overall h.25.5cm.No breaks or damage.Of dark brown patina.Possibly something missing from right hand, but no evidence of this aside from the fact that his fist is open.
A Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) bronze crocodile, in naturalistic prowling pose and perched upon a rock, h.12cm, length 27cm.Not signed.The naturalistic base is lacquered and appears consistent with age.Some general age wear throughout, dirt and dirt to crevices and relief areas.Otherwise no apparent faults.
A Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) bronze group of a tiger attacking a crocodile, each in roaring pose, the tiger's front paws perched on the crocodile's back, the tiger with patinated stripes, each finely detailed, with cast seal mark verso to crocodile, length 38.5cm.Both animals lacking glass eyes.Area at join to stomach of tiger and top of crocodiles tail is slightly loose.Join at tigers front paws to crocodile back is good and strong.Dust to low relief areas.Seal mark well struck.
