A pair of Baroque style early twentieth century gilt bronze three branch wall lights. Each formed as a winged herm supported on pierced baluster back plates, 47cm, width 33cm, depth 20cm.. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. One figure quite loose on the mounts screw threads compromised so needs repair. Both would require re wire.
Five Austrian cold painted bronze animal figures. One in novelty form depicts a hare seated upon a stool reading a newspaper and the other four of naturalistic form depict a ram, goat and two boars, unmarked. Reading hare stamped KK, 6.25cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Signs of re painting to the larger figure. Other signs of light wear and paint chipping. No breaks.
A nineteenth century gilt bronze fire / spark guard of rococo scrollworl form raised on openwork feet and decorated to the mesh centre with cupid holding a pair of bellows, 74.5cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Small hole in the mesh to the left of the centre, otherwise in good clean condition. Gilding bright.
A nineteenth century Cantonese baluster vase with moulded loop and mask handles and with a gilt bronze mounted foot. Finely enamelled with figures within gilt fret panels on grounds of flowers, butterflies and precious objects, 36cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Centre of the base drilled. No other damage and free from repair.
20th century AD. A hollow-cast bronze square-section seal block with two bands of meander pattern to the sidewalls, four high-relief characters to the underside, the handle formed as a squatting qilin with scroll detailing. 1.6 kg, 15.5cm (6"). Private collection, West London, UK; acquired in the 1990s.
10th-12th century AD. A mixed group of bronze pendants comprising: one discoid, integral loop, low-relief image of a bird with spread wings; one discoid, openwork image of a bird, pellets to the border; one discoid, ropework border, openwork cross with green iridescent glass insert to the reverse; one a forked plaque with scrolled edges, pellet detailing. 14 grams total, 23-26mm ("). A bronze figure of the Bodhisattva Arya Tara seated on a lotus base, wearing jewellery and crown; left hand held up in blessing with closed lotus flower entwinned around arm; right hand held down with open lotus flower entwinned around arm. 3 kg; 31cm (12 1/4"). Property of a North East Essex collector; acquired in the 1980s. [No Reserve]
10th-12th century AD. A matched set of D-shaped gilt-bronze plaques, each with chamfered upper edge, raised chevron, two lateral fixing lugs. 73 grams total, 19-21mm (3/4"). Property of a London businessman, from his grandfather's collection formed after World War II; thence by descent 1972.
