A bronze figure of Kubera (or Jambhala) Indonesia 9th/10th Century  A gilt bronze figure of a two-armed Jambhala or Kubera (the Buddhist God of Wealth), Central or Eastern Java (Indonesia), 9th or 10th century, 20 cm (8 inches) high by 9.8 cm (4 inches) wide, seated on a double lotus pedestal in the lalitasana posture holding a jambharain his right hand and a money pouch in his left hand. At his right foot is a purnaghata and further purnaghatas are on the square shaped base.This figure was reputedly originally once in the collection of Samuel Eilenberg. Purchased from the collection of a well-known West Sussex scholar and collector of Asian art. Provanance:  A private Oxford collector
