A Large 18th Century French Bronze Mortar with dark green patination. The ring moulded body with two cast head handles protruding either side and a small cast fleur-de-lis emblem, and oval foundry stamp with a bell encompassed by name Jacques Ducray. The decorative rim band incorporating date L'AN 1737, ST.P, 10¼ ins (26 cms) high, 13¼ ins (34 cms) in diameter.
A Yoruba Bronze Head of Ife. This casting created using the lost wax method. The lined face possibly representative of either decorative scars or a type of veil that was attached to the crown of the subject. The piece originated from Nigeria and measures approx. 22 ins (56 cm) tall, 8 ins (20 cm) wide and 9 ½ ins (24 cm) deep.

An interesting early polished Bronze Bracelet with knobbed decoration, of uncertain date but probably 600-400 BC. Knobbed rings and bracelets of this form are well known as forms of proto money in the Celtic cultures of the first millennium BC. Provenance - old East Anglian collection dispersed in 2015.
