A large Welsh George III bronze mortar by David Edwards, with flared rim and spreading foot, the everted body relief cast with a band of floral lozenges, flowers and the inscription DAUID * EDWARDS* LANDILO * 1783, 20cm high, 26cm wide excluding associated knopped pestle Provenance: from the Estate of the late Donald SparshottCondition Report: Minor marks, knocks, scuffs and wear overall consistent with age and use. The surface is variegated verdigris, with darker and lighter patches throughout. There is also some pitting and denting to the metal, particularly the everted rim.There is a thin horizontal crack that runs circa 20cm across the body, just above the bun foot, possibly due to firing or shaping.There is also a thin recessed line to the foot itself, though this doesn't appear to be a crack.The decoration is quite crisp and overall well-preserved. Condition Report Disclaimer

DILOREN 26/1000, and stamped RAF, mounted to a stepped rectangular section pine plinth, overall height 47cm Condition Report: Minor marks, knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age. The patina is a matte-ish dark brown.The spear is loose and needs to be manually attached, could possibly be fastened.The other spear is a little bent, as are the reins.There is radial movement between the bronze and the base.The bronze is a relatively recent cast, and as such has little wear.Condition Report Disclaimer
