A group of five Chinese and Tibetan metal wares, 19th century, comprising: a small bronze standing Guanyin, 6.7cm high; a small 'cockerel' weight, 3.2cm high; a circular bronze tripod incense burner, 7cm wide; a Tibetan 'lion' joss stick holder base, 10cm high; and a white metal reticulated two-part belt buckle with inset turquoise, 12cm wide (5)十九世紀 中國、西藏銅、鐵器一組General expected surface wear and casting imperfections; the incense burner with 5mm diam. circular repair at time of manufacturing to base; some verdigris or other agent to both belt buckle and incense burner; the joss stick holder with denting to edges, approx. 26mm wide bruise to front of base with associated cracks, loss to tail and loss to pinprick, as well as some bruising to edge of the bowl.
A Chinese bronze bellied vase, 18th century, of slightly compressed bulbous form supported by a splayed foot, the short neck with a pair of loop handels attached to the sides, the exterior covered with patina of reddish brown colour, 12.5cm high十九世紀 銅雙活環耳瓶Surface patina of reddish brown colour. There is an area of associated repairs to the shoulder, please refer to the image. Some wear to the base body. All wear commensurate with age.
A Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Tsongkhapa, late 19th century, seated in dhyanasana with hands raised in dharmachakrapravartana mudra, he is modelled wearing a pandita's hat and floral engraved robes and raised on a double-lotus base, 31cm high十九世紀晚期 銅宗喀巴像wear to gilding. Some slight dings to the edges of the bronze, but generally good.
A Chinese bronze 'bats' plaque, 19th century, in the shape of a lock with an offering figure to each side of a shou character encircled by five bats, a Buddhist lion dog mask above the central bat with a sinuate handle attached, pierced around the edge with rings attached, 10cm long十九世紀 銅‘五福祝壽’圖紋掛牌品項報告 Condition report Loss of lacquer. Surface ware commensurate with age.
A bronze medal,commemorating the Battle of Texel and the death of Admiral Maarten Harpertszoon Tromp, 1653, depicting Admiral Tromp in a collar and doublet, the obverse a battleship in a naval engagement dated '1653',7cm diameter, together with a turned boxwood box and cover (3)Condition ReportWe are unable to guarantee that the medal and case began life together, however there is wear to the velvet lining on both sides which corresponds to the raised areas of the nose and stern of the ship on the medal, where there are also areas of rubbing to the patina, which suggest that the medal and case have been together for some time. Please see additional photos to illustrate this.

Stand 29cm long x 20cm wide, weight approximately 7.8kgProvenance: Hazelwood, Shanghai circa 1930 then by descent. Hazelwood is a large classical property in Shanghai designed by Clough Williams-Ellis and is now on the site of the Radisson Xingguo HotelA similar censer was sold at Bonhams, New York, lot 2119, 13th March 2017With a large dent in the side. The vendor's family have no idea about how this happened, but there is some talk that it may have been a bullet, but there is nothing to corroborate this.
