A pair of 19th century patinated and gilt bronze candlesticks the two branches with scroll supports, the stem modelled as a bearded man's head on tapering plain column with pan pipes and cymbals to the sides, all raised on a shallow circular base with lady's faces with flowing hair 35cm high Provenance: formerly from the Ruth Black collection.
Single owner collection of World War I and later memorabilia comprising World War I Casualty Group to Private John Johnson 12713 of the South Lancashire Regiment being 1914-18 medal, 1914-15 Star, War for Civilisation medal and Bronze Death Plaque, Private Johnson was killed on the 22nd July 1916 and his memorial is at Thiepval Memorial, also another Casualty medal awarded to Private James Kilroe 19372 of the South Lancashire Regiment, Private Kilroe was killed on the 29th May 1916 and his memorial is in the Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont-St.Eloi, also in this lot are nine War of Civilisation medals mostly to member of the South Lancashire Regiment, a 1914-15 Star awarded to Corporal J.
