A Japanese bronze vase of oviform tapering outline, inlaid in shakudo, copper, silver and gilt, the neck with a band of butterflies, the main body decorated with finches amongst blossoming shrubs and flowers, to a rich patinated ground, signed to a gilt inset tablet to the base, 35cm. high, Meiji period.

Ferdinand Dubois: A bronze low relief plaque of arched outline "La Gurre" depicting a naked female dropping a sword as she walks on a sea of hands with the sun setting behind her, signed to the bronze Ferdinand Dubois, 1900, 35 x 27cm. A larger similar plaque by this artist has been used on a French War Memorial.

A pair of 19th century bronze and ormolu figural candelabra, with flowerheads and nozzles issuing from a basket supported by a semi naked bacchanalian female with a tambourine tied to her waist, the other basket supported by a satyr with pan pipes tied to his waist, raised on black polished and fluted marble plinths with applied ormolu garlands, the gilt foliate and scroll decorated bases on four swept supports, 82cm., high.

Drocourt, Paris, A French Corniche carriage clock, the eight day movement having a platform lever escapement and striking the hours and half hours on a gong with push repeat, the backplate numbered `2362` with the inside of the movement stamped with the `secret` trademark of the clockmaker Drocourt, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel spade hands and a gilt brass sight ring, contained in a brass Corniche case, 16.5cm. high. (Handle up). * Pierre & Alfred Drocourt were one of the top maker`s of carriage clocks in the mid to late Victorian period, having a factory at Saint-Nicolas-d`Ailermont, the most important town for carriage clock manufacture at the time, as well as premises in Paris at Rue Debelleyme 28 and Rue de Limoges. They were awarded numerous medals at exhibitions, such as the bronze medal at Paris 1867, the silver at Paris 1878 and the gold at Paris in 1889. Alfred succeeded his father Pierre sometime in the 1870`s.

An early 19th century bronze clock in the form of a horse, the 30 hour chain fusee watch movement having a verge escapement and a pierced and engraved backplate, the white enamel dial having black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands, the bronze case in the form of a horse with the clock sitting above and all standing on a white marble oval base, height 24cm.

Japy Freres, Paris, A gilt metal and bronze mantel clock, the eight day duration movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell with an outside countwheel, the repousee dial having inset porcelain cartouches with black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands, the case in the form of a bronze elephant on which stands the drum clock surmounted by a model of a cherub playing the cymbals, standing on a stylised gilt metal oval base, height 50cm. * Japy Freres were founded by Frederic Japy at Beaucourt, France who had, circa 1776, been the first to use machines to manufacture watch & clock parts. By the mid 19th Century they had become one of the largest suppliers of roulant blancs to the horological trade with premises in both Paris and London.
