TWO TIBETAN DENSATIL-STYLE GILT BRONZE SUPPORTS, 15TH CENTURY Each cast with two four-armed Bodhisattvas standing on a lotus throne above a large kalasa vase, with jewelled adornments and an elaborate headdress set with turquoise and glass beads, holding various implements and supporting a double lotus throne under a square capital, 26.4cm. (2) Cf. P F Mele, Tibet, pp.61-62, where photographs of comparable supports in situ are illustrated. These pillar supports are in a style typical of the complex at Densatil. A RARE CHINESE GILT BRONZE INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, DING, 18TH CENTURY The rectangular body raised on four scroll-ended feet, with a flange to each corner and with two upright strap handles decorated with chevrons, cast in high relief with panels containing small birds and insects with prunus, pine, lotus and chrysanthemum, all encircled by inscribed leaf designs, the cover depicting elaborate peony flowers and with a Buddhist lion dog forming the finial, 18cm high. A CHINESE BRONZE TRIPOD INCENSE BURNER 18TH CENTURY The ovoid body raised on three tall slightly tapering feet and with two loop handles, decorated in relief to the exterior with three rams' heads divided by roundels of spirals, the bronze with a rich dark patina, raised on a hardwood ruyi-shaped stand and with a cover carved as a domed curling lotus leaf, 20cm. A LARGE CHINESE SILVERED BRONZE INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, DING, WARRING STATES PERIOD 475-221 BC The cover with three ring lugs which act as feet when inverted, the body with upturned handles and decorated with interlocking geometric bands, raised on three tall feet, the interior with extensive malachite encrustations, a later wood stand inlaid with silver wire, 41cm across. A 19th century French gilt bronze mounted marquetry inlaid side table The rounded rectangular top centred with a bow tied floral bouquet and mounted with twin cast brass carrying handles, above the parquetry inlaid frieze, standing on gilt bronze rams mask headed sabre legs with sabot feet. 78.5 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Some gilt wear/loss, some scuffing, scratching and staining, three sabot loose, some chipping and veneer losses.
A 19th century Continental bronze mounted walnut musical cigar dispenser Modelled as a dog before its kennel, the hinged cover enclosing a sectioned interior and activating the musical mechanism playing six aires. 25 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally good condition, expected wear, dog possibly previously painted, old label to underside listing aires.
