Class B1. ‘Kudu’ 4-6-0. locomotive and tender No 61008 built to the designs of Martin Evans with brazed superheated copper boiler the fittings including water and pressure gauges pop type safety valve blower two injectors steam brake whistle clack and twin outside cylinders bronze pistons Walschaert’s valve gear fluted motion. Cab controlled draincocks and pipes mechanical lubricator eccentric driven feed pump and bypass. Tender details including working leaf springs brake gear water cocks feed pump steps and hand irons. Boiler history Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies boiler test certificate No 8641. Valid until the 10th of September 2007. Test Pressure 120psi. Original boiler test certificate signed by S Rowland of Manchester and dated 1992.
A FRENCH MANTEL CLOCK the eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped with the trademark of the maker 'S. Marti et Cie' along with the award of the 'Medaille de Bronze', the two piece white dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel moon hands, a visible Brocot style escapement with jewelled pallets and a cast brass bezel, the black slate case having an arched top and fluting to the front, made Circa 1860, height 42cm.
