CONDITION REPORT: The wooden base has signs of wear to the feet, one of the small feet has a slight loss and discolouration. Overall, the rest of the base is sound with no structural damage. There is a repair and damage to the top of the Buddha's head, it would appear that an area has been re-soldered, so overall condition is not original, structurally now sound but with repairs. Also, some pitting and other imperfections to the bronze, many of these from its first firing. Also, the patina has been rubbed in places through handling over time.

Lot 4

A Japanese bronze cockerel and hen, raised on a wooden base. Overall height 37 cm, width of base 29 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The wooden base is structurally sound with no damage but there is evident wear to the feet and along the top of the rectangular surface which the chickens stand on. There is also a clear repair to the side at the back of the stand. The hens themselves are not stable on the stand and the larger cockerel has damage to his legs, one of which is split all the way through and loose, so the overall condition for this item is not good, there is also a wing missing in entirety from the cockerel.
