With twin lugs, the flared body cast four times with a unicorn medallion, with border legend, height 12.8cm, rim width 16.2cm Literature: Illustrated and discussed, M. Finlay, 'English Decorated Bronze Mortars' (2010), p. 77, pl. 117. The author notes the legend, although incomplete, appears to include the word 'FELICITAS' for fertility or happiness.
Of typical shield-shape, pierced for suspension and cast with the crowned Royal Coat of Arms of England and Scotland, with lion and unicorn supporters, at least two crowned 'C' royal cipher marks, twice with the dagger mark for London, twice with the warden's Avoirdupois 'A', typical circular depression to rear, height 17cm, width 10.8cm Literature: For a very similar example see H.C.
