A good late 18th century bronze signal cannon, barrel 16" of classic form, bore approximately 7/8", with pre 1813 Birmingham private proofs, mounted on a later (probably Victorian) stepped wooden naval type 4 wheeled carriage, with stepped wooden elevating block, bronze tunnion caps, and bronze tyred wheels. GC Plate 1 £1500-2000
A good late 18th century bronze signal cannon, almost identical to the previous lot, barrel 16¼” with pre 1813 Birmingham private proofs, varying slightly from the previous lot in the shape of the priming pan around the touch hole, and the larger cascabel, on a near identical stepped wooden naval type carriage with elevating block and bronze mounts. GC (slightly more soiled than the previous lot, the touch hole blocked). The identical proof marks and near identical carriage suggest that these two cannon have been together as a pair for all of their lives. Plate 1 £1500-2000
A Belgian 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux bronze framed double action pinfire revolver, number VP 443, c 1865, octagonal barrel 83mm, Liege proved (indistinct), the breech with engraved oblong panels with simple gold line inlay, the cylinder with foliate engraved panels bordered by gold lines, the bronze frame engraved with foliate panels and straps on stippled background, with folding trigger and plain ivory grips.
