Three London Academy of Music enameled prize medals, in 9ct gold, silver and bronze, each cased, three First World War Medals, to various recipients and a 1939-45 Defence Medal, mounted on a bar as worn, an enameled badge, detailed Ladies Life-Boat Guild, a 1935 Silver Jubilee medallion, boxed and two further medallions.
Jean Dassier, (1676-1763) cased set of thirty five bronze medallions of English sovereigns William I to George II and including Oliver Cromwell, mainly approximately 42mm, (1.65in) diameter, (that of Cromwell slightly smaller,) an a mahogany case. Jean Dassier, a native of Geneva, where he also died, worked in London and produced the dies for this series in 1731. The set calls for 33 medallions but has in addition to the George II dedication example, a further George II medallion with reverse having his memorial under the legend "TRIUMPH UBIQUE" and a medallion of his consort Queen Caroline.
AUGUSTE RODIN (1840-1917), "POLYPHEME", BRONZE WITH DARK BROWN PATINA, signed "A. Rodin" and inscribed with foundry mark "Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris" to reverse, with raised signature "A. Rodin" to the underside ("R.B.D paper label taped to underside). Height 24.5cm Exhibited: Moot Hall, Aldeburgh, 19th-28th June 1959. Provenance: Acquired from Roland, Browse & Delbanco, Cork Street, London, October 1959 and descended in the same family to the present day (original receipt sold with bronze).
A Continental patinated bronze and variegated red marble mounted vase, late 19th century, modelled as three putti supporting a twin handled urn aloft, with fluted neck and lobed underside, 22cm high Condition report: ** Gilt areas are rubbed and slightly dull. The brick-red patination of the putti is also rubbed at exposed areas. A crack runs right trough the base. Otherwise though the lot is perfectly satisfactory shape
A French patinated bronze model of the Diana de Gabies, last quarter 19th century, cast after the Antique at the Barbedienne Foundry, the rectangular base inscribed F.BARBEDIENNE FONDEUR to the top and with circular REDUCTION MECANIQUE stamp to the reverse, 57cm highCondition report:** Good overall condition. Patina is a light olive brown but lighter at exposed extremities. Back side of base is minorly scuffed.
A pair of Regency or George IV gilt bronze and cut glass hung figural candlesticks, circa 1820, each with foliate cast socket above a drip pan cast as linked, downturned anthemia hung with glass pendants, the stems as tree trunks, each with an infant (possibly Hercules) standing before it, on circular socles with foliate cast triform bases, each with an emerging serpent, 39.5cm high
A Continental gilt bronze and cut glass hung twelve light chandelier in the Louis XV taste, early 20th century, the openwork frame with writhen and foliate cast supports and branches, hung overall with faceted glass pendants and flower heads, the foliate clad urn cast sockets rising in pairs from scrolling branches, with faceted glass finials mounted between, the octagonal section knopped stem descending to a spherical glass terminal, 138cm high, 86cm wide
