* ANGUS MCEWAN RWS RGI RSW (SCOTTISH b. 1963),ANCIENT STANDING STONEwatercolour on paper, initialled and dated '96image size 25cm x 18cm, overall size 48cm x 39cm Mounted, framed and under glass.Note: Angus McEwan was born in 1963 in Dundee, Scotland. Angus studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College Art in Dundee, graduating in Fine Art and a Post Graduate Diploma in the same discipline. Angus was elected to the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (1995) and in 2012 the Royal Watercolour Society. In 2005 he was recognized as an Associate of the International Guild of Realism USA. He is also an associate member of the AWS and NWS in the USA. Angus has been Finalist three times of the ''International Artist Magazine'' and won first place in the John Blockley Prize in the RI open exhibition. Angus has also won second prize in the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition (2007) in London and the International Prize ''Marche d'Acqua'' Fabriano, Italy in 2012. In 2013 Angus won Bronze Award, at the Shenzhen International Watercolour Biennial, in China. He was recently awarded the May Marshall Brown Award at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW), Edinburgh, 2015 and was elected RGI in May 2016. Many galleries display McEwan's works, including Ok Harris Gallery in New York and Quanhua Gallery, in Shanghai. Recently highlighted in Shenzhen Biennale and the Qingdao Hall of Watercolor. He has exhibited in Fabriano, Italy in the ''Marche d'Acqua'' International Award, as a special guest and in Vicenza, Italy, where he had a solo show in the ''Artbox''. McEwan was one of the 23 finalists in Narbonne, France at the Concours Mondial de l'Aquarelle 2014 1st World Watercolour Competition. Angus also exhibited at the World Watermedia Exposition, Thailand and Myro Gallery, Greece. He also participated in the Second International Watercolour Exhibit in Thessaloniki, Greece. In the UK McEwan exhibits with Thompson's Gallery (London) and The Open Eye Gallery (Edinburgh). * SCOTT SUTHERLAND DA RSA FRBS (SCOTTISH 1910 - 1984),MOTHER & CHILDwood carving, signed, titled and dated 1982 to base34cm high.Note: Sculptor Scott Sutherland was born at Wick, Caithness. He trained at Gray's School of Art, Edinburgh School of Art and Ecole des Beaux Arts (Paris), and briefly in Egypt, Germany, Greece and Italy. He taught sculpture at Dundee College of Art from 1947. Sutherland's most important work was The Commando Memorial at Achnacarry (about a mile from Spean Bridge). He won an open competition in 1949 to design the memorial which was unveiled by the HM The Queen Mother on 27 September 1952. Other large-scale works include The Black Watch Memorial (1966) at Powrie Brae, Dundee and The Hugh Dowding Memorial (1972) at Moffat, Annandale & Eskdale. Among his other sculptures are: statues of famous Scotsman for the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow 1936; the Coat of Arms (in sandstone) for the entrance to National Library, Edinburgh; a bronze capercaillie for the school at Kenmore; the Robert Burns statue at Arbroath; the carved slate memorial panel to the crew of Broughty Ferry Lifeboat Mona; the silver trophy of the Royal Observer Corps and the Leaping Salmon Fountain for the Norrie Miller Memorial Garden at Perth in Perthshire. Sutherland won the Guthrie award in 1940. Only once in recent years has a wood carving by Scott Sutherland appeared in The Scottish Contemporary Art Auctions and "Diana" a 34cm high signed, titled and dated (1979) example sold for £1,100 (hammer), lot 588 12th September 2021.

Bräunlich patinierte, seltene Bronze des Albert Hinrich Hussmann (Lüdingworth/Cuxhaven 1874 - 1946 Fürstenberg), Guss von der "Gladenbeck GmbH - Berlin-Friedrichshagen" (am Sockel bezeichnet und signiert), ca. 40 x 41 cm. Hussmann war ein deutscher Bildhauer und Maler, ist für seine naturgetreue Wiedergabe von Mensch und Tier bekannt. Sehr schöner Erhalt; aus süddeutscher Privatsammlung.
Porträt-Relief-Platte, Bronze mit plastisch gearbeitetem Halbbildnis des Fritz Kühnemann (1840 - 2.7.1910); an der rechten Schulter Ritzsignatur von M. Wiese, ohne Gießereistempel. Dieser arbeitete u. a. mit der Hofbildgießerei in Berlin, Martin & Piltzing, zusammen. Unterer Rand mit Dellen. Fritz Kühnemann war der Vater des Berliner Kommerzienrates Kurt Kühnemann; ca. 24 x 17 cm; Bronze! Möglicherweise Arbeit des Max Wiese (Danzig 1846 - 1925 Neuruppin).
This Lot consists of the two items which belonged to John Robert Lund latterly of Ilkley, Yorkshire (1883-1960 ) and one item which belonged to his wife Sarah Ann Lund (nee Shuttleworth) (1883-1962) A Sterling Silver medal awarded for a meritorious act of first aid carried out by John Robert Lund (of Embsay) on June 18th 1905 at Giggleswick (near Settle) whilst in the employ of the Midland Railway Company. The obverse side of the medal has a Maltese Cross surmounted by a Wyvern. The medal which was struck by A. H. Darby, Birmingham and chain are presented in their original display box measures 1.25in diameter together with a 1 in diameter hall marked Silver medal presented to John Robert Lund for service in the St Johns Ambulance Association within the Midland Railway Company dated 1903. And lastly a Bronze St. John's Ambulance Service Pendant with appendages for 1912 and 1913 awarded to Sarah Ann Shuttleworth of Cononley Yorkshire. A letter from their grandson accompanies the lot.
