A GOOD JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD BRONZE LIDDED KORO, the lid of the koro with an okimono of a mythical being holding his gourd shaped sack upon his back stood upon lotus foliage, the body of the koro with twin moulded basket handles in the form of chi longs, the body with well carved border decoration and ruyi head borders above ten roundel panels each depicting a varying animal such as a snake, dragon, rabbits, horse, tiger, cockerel, ho ho birds etc, with lower wave and geometric borders stood upon three curving and decorated feet, the underside of the koro with a large six character metal seal tablet,46cm high x 26cm wide.
