A Chinese bronze incense burner / censer, late Ming / early Qing dynasty, relief cast dragon mask handles, with 16 character seal mark under base, on original separate stand, rim diameter 15.5cm, height 10cm Condition Report:This incense burner has come from a local private estate in Rye, it has been polished in recent years so has lost its original dark patina. There is a shallow dent in one side which has left a very thin line mark, but there are no repairs or holes. The lion mask handles are lightly rubbed on the high points. The inside surface of the bowl is untouched with the original patina. The 16character seal mark under the base is clear and not rubbed. The stand is the same colour, and fits perfectly but does not have a impressed mark.We found an almost identical incense burner sold by Sotheby's Hong Kong on 3rd December 2015 (Lot 1) which was slightly smaller and had no stand.Main incense burner weight is 1295grams.Stand weighs 630grams.Total weight 1929grams.
