Col Jackson began his service with the East Surrey Regt, before becoming Glider Pilot. The group consists of: East Surrey Regt sweetheart broach, veterans blazer buttons, and OR's cap badge. After the Antique. A bronze figure of The Dying Gaul, 19th century, inscribed 'S BORDONI. F.' length 12.5in.The inscription may indicate this is a copy of a work by Francesco Bordoni (1580-1654). The Roman marble figure of the Dying Gaul, on which this figure is based, was rediscovered in the 1620s in Rome.
