Soukop taught Elisabeth Frink and Robert Clatworthy and was a very good carver and modeller, but tended not to stick to any particular style for too long [quite refreshing]. Clatworthy is probably the greatest modern sculptor of animals and abstract Heads - in a different class to Frink [they studied together, but Clatworthy was the bigger artist in the 1950s and early 1960s with one-man exhibtions at Hanover Gallery and Waddington Galleries]. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Rather bashed and bent in places, especially to the base. The interior is rough with heavy wear in places, however appears complete overall.

19TH CENTURY ROSEWOOD TWO TRAIN BRACKET CLOCK having arch case with floral and foliate mouldings, brass inlaid scroll work and bun feet. Circular painted face with Roman numerals. Unmarked brass twin fusee movement, originally striking on one bell, lacks pediment, side loop handles and bell. 48cm high approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Requiring restoration. The case lacks its bronze pediment and loop handles. The case has splits in places. Some of the brass inlay is lifting and there are losses to that panel. Lacks its original bell. Rather grubby overall.
