London Transport coach stop enamel G-PLATE 'Restricted Coach Stop'. A 1930s/40s type sign consisting of two painted plates inside a bronze frame, matching the contemporary bus stop flags. From one of 2 pairs of central London stops (Piccadilly Circus & Oxford St) where the authorities restricted boarding of coaches in order to avoid congestion. This dated back to the first days of Green Line coaches and the restrictions were lifted in 1964/65. This is the only example of this plate we have ever seen. In very good, ex-use condition, comes with original fixings. [1]
