PATRICIA MCALLISTER (RHODESIAN 1932-2008) SWINGING GIRL II Bronze, 67cm high (26") With Certificate of Authenticity from Alwin Gallery, London Born in Africa, McAllister was later awarded a travelling scholarship and hence studied at Goldsmiths College of Art. She also studied at L?Academia di Belle Arte in Rome. Commissioned by Sylvia Graucob MBE, McAllister created a memorial sculpture for the tragedy of the stadium fire at Bradford City Football Club in 1985. Her work is rarely seen at auction. With Certificate of Authenticity signed and numbered in ink by the artist?s hand Jonathan Wylder was born in Salisbury in 1957, and his sculpture has achieved critical acclaim both nationally and internationally. Prestigious commissions include a five metre high bronze monument in Belgrave Square, London, and a life size bronze in Edinburgh, opened by Her Majesty the Queen. Wylder is a master of sculpting in clay followed by the bronze casting process; his inspiration often derives from the human form, particularly exploring the form and physique of elegant dancers.
