Marie Machen (British, 20th century) SPS SWA, bronze sculpture, dancing study of a ballerina upon a black slate base, cast at the Morris Singer Foundry but unmarked and unsigned, given to the vendor directly from the artist 26.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are no post production faults visible. However the wedding finger on her left hand appears to be in an unnatural pose but this is how it has been cast. There are small scratches and nibbles to the black marble base.

A Chinese bronze candlestick, kneeling figure holding tray. Height 13 cm. CONDITION REPORT: A section of his sash is missing on his right hand side at the rear. The dish he holds has a 3 cm section of the rim missing. The cavities appear to be filled with old metal polish. The brass base has slight casting flaws. Other than those mentioned there appears to be no further obvious faults.

Lot 295

A Chinese bronze censor, mid Qing, of swollen compressed form with lug type handles and with pseudo six character Xuande mark, width including handles 19 cm, height 7.7 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This item weighs 935 grams. It has been polished at some time in its life and lost its patination. There is a 3 cm crack beneath the handle, a further 3.5 cm crack just to the right of the handle and a further 4 cm crack to the body between the two handles which extends beneath the foot rim and along the underside for a further 6 cm. The crack beneath the handle shows internally whilst all other cracks are only visible from the exterior.

A glass topped coffee table, raised on a bronze base modelled as an otter with fish. Diameter 76 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Other than a few minor surface scratches the glass top appears to be in good order and free from any chips. The base also appears to be in good order and free from any faults.
