AN AMICABLE SOCIETY BRONZE "HAND IN HAND" MEDAL / TICKET, circular with two hands clasped between the Royal Crown and '1696', the reverse legend 'AMICABLE CONTRIBUTIONSHIP', c.1792, 1.55", c.19.8g. These medals and certain varieties were issued to commemorate the establishment of the first company in England for the insurance of houses against loss by fire.
LARGE BRONZE BUST OF A DOG - SHEENA AUSTEN a large bronze bust of a Dog 'Wellington', mounted on a square slate plinth. Incised mark, Wellington, 29.4.91, and Livingstone Foundry mark. 13ins (33cms) high overall *This bust was commissioned by Lady Paxford of their Dog 'Wellington'. Sheena Austen has been a sculptor for over 20 years, working near Rye in Sussex, and has produced many commission works of portraits and free standing sculptures.
An extremely heavy bronze "Dove of Peace" in the form of a Dove with orb on its back with hooks to sides to be suspended from the ceiling by a rise and fall chain mechanism, with cylindrical hole through the centre of the orb and protruding from the pigeon's breast for an oil lamp or burner. Some gold gilt remaining in some parts but verdigris and patina covering most parts. Believed to be from a Eastern/European Religious or Masonic building. Wing span 40cm.
