Siegfried Zimmermann1927 Halle - 2012 Hannover - Pelikan - Bronze. Braun patiniert. H. 22,5 cm. Am Sockel monogr.: SZ. Gießervermerk: GUSS SCHMAKE. Der Künstler erfuhr eine Ausbildung zum Holzbildhauer in der Rhön. Später studierte er bei Scheuernstuhl und Lehmann in Hannover. Er wurde Assistent von letzterem. Lehrtätigkeit an der TH Hannover. Das Sprengel Museum in Hannover besitzt eine Eselreiterin von ihm. Zimmermann arbeitete auch viel für den kirchlichen Bereich.

Von 1954 bis 1956 studierte er schließlich an der Werkkunstschule Flensburg, wo er nach seinem Staatsexamen bis 1961 Meisterschüler war. Seit 1958 arbeitet er als freischaffender Künstler.
