Else Fürst (German, 1873-1943), A brown patinated bronze, Snowballing, signed for Martin & Piltzing, Berlin foundry mark, rectangular marble base, 27cm high, c.1910Else Fürst was born in Leipzig, Germany on June 25th 1873t to physician Livius Fürst. Her sister Helen was a violinist however Else persued sculpture, studying in both Berlin and Paris; she was a pupil of Romantic sculptor Denys Puech. Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906), A green patinated bronze, The Young Poet, seated holding a quill and parchment, stepped circular rouge marble base, signed, 28cm highEutrope Bouret was born on April 16th 1833 in Paris, he went on to study under the French decorative sculptor Louis-Charles-Hippolyte Buhot. Bouret received commercial and critical success during his lifetime and was commissioned to sculpt the tombstone bust of the French novelist and fellow sculptor, Alexis Bouvier. He exhibited at the Paris Salon regularly until his death on September 30th 1906.
