Much loved and admired 60s family sports saloon.Originally supplied through Jaguar Cars, New York in 1961 with an automatic gearbox and factory fitted power assisted steeringFinished in the rare factory colour of Bronze Metallic with Magnolia HideReturned to the UK in 2006 remaining in left-hand drive formatSubsequently fittted with a correct-type Manual Gearbox and OverdriveIn our vendor’s caring ownership for the last 15 years spending the majority of that time at his home in FinlandFastidiously maintained regardless of cost and it showsA superbly original 3.8 Mk2 finished in the rare and attractive colour of Bronze Metallic, an original factory option that is rarely seen today, complimented by Magnolia Hide.Originally supplied through Jaguar Cars, New York in 1961 with an automatic gearbox and factory fitted power assisted steering, this particular Mk2 returned to these shores in 2006 being purchased at that point by the current owner, a custodianship of some fifteen years! The paintwork was also refreshed at this time and remains in outstanding condition to this day, as does the remainder of the Jaguar. Registered to the present owner in 2007 it was pressed into service, travelling to Finland where it remained at the owners home until 2020 hence the decision was taken to leave the car in its original left-hand drive format and fit a correct-type manual gearbox providing the ideal motoring experience for a car of this ilk. During the intervening years it has covered 1000 miles per year being serviced annually and also MoT'd every second year as required by Finnish law for a "Museum Vehicle".Maintained on a regular basis by 'British Classics' in Helsinki, with the only modification being an electronic distributor, which further improved the cars performance. The specification, with the exception of the gearbox and distributor, is as it left the factory including the painted wire wheels and tool kit which still resides within the spare wheel well. The speedometer currently reads approx. 61,000 miles, when purchased the recorded mileage was around 47,000 miles and whilst there are no documents to confirm the accuracy of the recorded mileage, given the condition of the car I would not be surprised if this reading is correct and original? An exceptional example of the much loved and admired 60s family sports saloon that will never fail to turn heads on the show field, the country lanes or on that, soon to be enjoyed, jaunt into Europe.SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: MK2Year: 1961Chassis Number: P 215802 BWTransmission: Manual with OverdriveEngine Number: LB 1081-9Drive Side: Left-hand DriveMake: LHDInterior Colour: Magnolia HideClick here for more details and images
