A selection of four carved wooden figures originating from across the african continent. To include a man and wife pair of carvings, with damage to the base of the female. Also including a large carved bust of a notable female figure, with shells and bronze decoration to tordo and remnants of beaded headdress. A possibly bronze age set of beads. Together with neolithic stone tools. Maurice Jenkins (1933-2022). North Cornwall collector. Maurice was a lifetime collector and started in the 1950s. He opened a shop in Liskeard in the 1970s called Canon Hill Antiques. He visited a number of Middle Eastern countries in his lifetime including Egypt in the late 1970's when his interest in Islamic and Asian antiques began. He was a man with an eye for quality and a love of antiques, history and travel who purchased privately and at auction over the decades. Over a lifetime of purchasing privately and at auction, he created an eclectic ensemble of collections reflecting his interests. He died a few weeks before his 90th birthday and was still buying until that time. These items have come from the collection of the late Maurice Jenkins of Bude. The labels on the beads are his and state 'Early Bronze Age Necklace purchased 1991 at sale in Fremington'. Two of the implements have marker pen inscriptions, the larger states '1989, found in Bude at roadside North of the golf club', the smaller ' Borrowdale, Lake District'

Known for his iconic paintings of horsemen and landscapes, as well as his abstract works, Delaquis is a prolific draughtsman, and experiments with a wide variety of media including prints, watercolour, and etchings. He attended the prestigious Achimota School in Accra and earned a Certificat de fin d’Etudes from Ecole ABC de Paris (1964). He later received his BA in Fine Art from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana (1971), and completed his MA in Fine Art from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, U.S.A. (1975). Awards have included a Bronze Medal at the International Graphic Art Exhibition in Leipzig, Warsaw (1966); the National Art Exhibitions Award in Ghana (1968 & 1970); and the Entertainment Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana (ECRAG) Award for outstanding contribution to the development of African Culture in the field of Painting (1988); among others. Ato Delaquis has exhibited widely and his works are in private collections in Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australia.

It served as the Revolutionary Headquarters of General George Washington from 20th October until 2nd November, 1777.
