A 19th Century French patinated bronze figure of Ondine inscribed to the circular base "Ondine 1874 JF" 122 cm high raised on a black marble column stand CONDITION REPORTS The piece is basically sound throughout with no breakages visible. The patination is somewhat mixed with very green look to the upper elbow and what appears to be surface scratching to the gold colouring particularly to the back and legs through this may clean through this can not be guaranteed. The pillar may or may not be original to the piece though it does seem to work both physically and aesthetically. There is however a chip to the rear of the main column at the top - we do have the pieces as per images approx. 7 cm x 6 cm

•SALLY ARNUP (1930-2015) GREYHOUND Bronze, signed II/X, dark brown patina, upon a slate base 23cm high; 40cm long approx. Provenance: The collection of John Skeaping, RA and of his wife, Marjory Skeaping; thence by descent. * In John Skeaping's 1977 autobiography Drawn from Life, he writes (page 204) that 'Sally Arnup was an unconventional girl with a strong personality. She used to bring her baby into the school [the Royal College of Art, where Skeaping was professor of sculpture from 1953-59] with her and keep it, like a puppy, in a cardboard box in the class-room whilst she worked' and, on page 245, he writes of Sally Arnup that she 'was a one-time pupil of mine and probably the best animalier of today'. Arnup was also taught by Frank Dobson and became head of sculpture at York Art School 1958-1972. Some of the vivid immediacy of her subject matter is the result of working directly from life. ++ Good condition

A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED SEVRES STYLE PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCKLate 19th CenturyWith a winged Cupid mounted above the dial, painted with an amorous couple and Roman hours, the side panels with musical trophies, the twin train movement by Japy Freres, stamped with medallion and serial number 937, pendulum and key, 31cm highCondition report: The case: rubbing to the gilding of the mounts with some oxidisation, tarnishing, dirt and dust. Cover to the movement is missing and replaced with a cut out brass example which is screwed in. The Cupid figure is a little loose as is his quiver and bow. The dial: Rubbing to some of the gilding on the porcelain, especially around the minute marks to the outer ring. The movement: this will need to be checked by a clock specialist.
