An archaistic-style heavily patinated Chinese bronze wood-mounted table lamp; the height-adjustable twin lamp above various verdigrised bronze symbols and animals etc. in early style, raised upon an oval hardwood base with four downswept-shaped feet (the bronze height 31cm, overall height to tip of finial 68cm)
A French Art Deco period circular variegated black marble and bronze mounted trinket dish; the well-patinated crouching bronze lioness standing upon a circular recess (marble 24cm diameter, the animal 21.5cm from tip of nose to tail)Two very minor rim chips to the underside of the base not visible from normal display. Minor surface wear to bronze commensurate with age and use.
A large mid-19th century patinated Japanese bronze table two-handled temple censer; Xuande mark below rim in Shang style and decorated in relief with taotie masks raised on Kiri (paulownia wooden base with concave sides) (36cm wide x 31cm high to tops of handles not including wood base)Base of censer is drilled (three holes - see images on website). The interior with signs of corrosion and verdigris, the circular signed floral roundel later applied. The censer body surface with scratches to the bronze commensurate with age and use. The wooden base is also associated.
An large pair of opposing oak-backed bronze portrait plaques of classical gods; the plaques cast after models by Edmund Louis Charles Tassel, each plaque cast in relief with a profile portrait of a young man, the first modelled after Mercury wearing a winged helmet and breastplate, and cast with a bearded mask and wings, the second of Perseus wearing a helmet surrounded by twin hippocampi and a laurel crown, his scale cast breastplate decorated with the head of Medusa (unmarked) (plaque sizes 49cm x 34.75cm)

A pair of Chinese bronze pear-shaped vases, circa 1900, each with a dragon chasing the pearl to the front and a deer beneath a tree to the reverse, twin elephant mask ring handles and character marks, height 21.5cm, with original ebonised wood stands and a Chinese bowl on stand, seal mark, width 20cm.Condition report: The bronzes have no condition issues. But the wood stands have had repairs to the feet.
A Japanese WWII Katana sword, with steel blade and tsuba, gilt bronze mount, shagreen handle covered in leather grip in a leather scabbarb, total length 92cm, length of blade 54.5cm.Condition report: Extra images on David Lay website. Leather saya/sheath has damage and signs of distress and is almost off at one section. The leather strapping samegawa has become detached at the tsuba/hilt. Rust has started to form on the tang/handle and to a lesser extent on the blade.
Two miniature Chinese bronze vases, 19th century, heights 9cm and 8cm.Condition report: The hexagonal vase has some small areas of verdigris and a scuff mark.
