Good pair of 19th century French empire style bronze and ormolu figural candlesticks, each modelled as a Nubian youth holding aloft twin flower head branches, raised on tooled stepped cylindrical plinths, 33cm highCondition report: Please note that these are 20th century, not 19th century as catalogued. They are in good condition with no apparent damage.
19th century Chinese bronze censor raised on three feet with two character mark to base, Chinese archaic school bronze vase with animal mask handles 28cm high and archaic school bronze trough 24cm wide (3)Condition report: The vase has a solder repair to the base. There is some minor natural corrosion to the censer and trough but this could probably be cleaned.
A patinated and painted bronze model after Claude Bonnefon, of a young lady with flowers in her hair, on a modern base, 42cms high; together with a composition Art Deco figurine of a lady in a dress, on base, 65cms high; and a Maling hand-decorated 'Pomegranite' pattern plate, 29cms diameter.

Large metal reproduction in smaller scale of the bronze chariot found during the 1980s in the archaeological complex of the First Emperor of Qin and which was almost certainly a faithful reproduction of the vehicle used to transport the emperor's body to Xiang Yang for burial.

Cm 13,00 x 20,00. dark patina bronze sculpture depicting the Buddha in the act of hiding the index finger of his right hand in the palm of his left hand, with this gesture alluding to the profound concept of the “sunyata”, or the emptiness of everything.
Himalayan Art A bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni Tibet, 13th century . . Cm 13,50 x 16,50. Significant bronze casting depicting the historic Shakyamuni Buddha portrayed in the cross-legged Padmasana position on a broad base consisting of a double lotus flower with large petals. The left hand rests on the lap in the Avakasamudra relaxation gesture, while the right gently touches the earth, testifying to the truthfulness of his words with the Bhumisparsamudra gesture. The hieratic facial features are enriched with silver and gold inlays and show traces of ancient gilding. An Indian stylistic influence is evident throughout the work, mainly in the slender waist, the facial features and the overall shape of the lean head. Indian Art An important bronze figure of meditating Avalokitesvara Pakistan, Swat valley, 7th century . . Cm 6,20 x 10,50. Rare, refined alloy casting depicting the Bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokite?vara, seated in the rajalilasana position on a high base decorated with turned lotus petals and a perforated, interlocking ring pattern. In this particular depiction, the character is in a reflective pose. The right hand delicately approaches a serene face, whose eye sockets and third eye are embellished with silver inlays. In his left hand is a branch that extends towards the shoulder and ends in an open lotus flower. Note how the whole work reflects the refined aesthetic canon typical of the bronzes of the Swat Valley.Provenance:Private Collection Milan, Italy. Chinese Art A monumental temple bellChina, Ming dynasty, reign of Hong Zhi, 15th century. . Cm 55,00 x 70,00. An impressive temple bell made of cast iron with elaborate relief decoration arranged in overlapping bands of which the largest central contains the numerous dedicatory inscriptions, while the lower edge, embellished with a sequence of trigrams, presents eight large beating teeth, alluding to the Eight Great Immortals of Taoism. From the reading of the numerous inscriptions we know that this piece, of considerable workmanship and importance, was commissioned by the wealthy Yang family, of Shanxi, to be placed in the Hall of the Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin) and was cast in February of the eleventh year of the reign of the emperor Hong Zhi (AD 1498), thanks to the donations of the many people whose names are engraved in eternal memory on the bronze surface.For a similar example see: Sothebys, London, Fine Chinese Works of Art, 05 November 2008, lot 111.
