Lot 834A
A Liberty & Co style reconstituted stone sun dial, the bronze sundial to the top engraved 'Liberty & Co Ltd', on an Arts and Crafts style column with wording 'I make the passing hour as the shadows come and go', each side decorated with one of the four elements, on square base, 110cm high. Provenance: Nottinghamshire country house garden for the past 40 years. CONDITION REPORT: The column is heavily weathered throughout with some loss of definition of the letting and detailing. There are some old chips to the top of one of the moulded arches and a few smaller chips at the top edge also. The base has other losses, particularly to one corner. There is one inch thick layer to the underside of the base which may not be original and there is a line in the moulding of the base, close to one of the corners, which may be an old repair or mould mark (please see additional images) There are darker marks to the moulding here and there, green marks and some moss residue.

Rear strut slightly bent. Some wear to the gilding.

Impressed mark to the underside, 7.75cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Wear, only remnants of pink/red enamel to the robe. Chalice very slightly bent.

Base in good order could do with a clean and polish. Shade structurally sound, lots of sements however cracked.

A Chinese patinated bronze trumpet shaped vase. With a diaper ground and decorated in relief with wisteria and prunus blossom, surmounted by a pair of figures and a crane, raised on an associated hardwood plinth. Bronze 12cm (2). Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Good condition. The plinth with loss all around the lower rim.

A 19th century French gilt bronze figural mantel clock. Surmounted with an allegorical figure emblematic of Summer and with enamel dial signed W. H. Tooke, Paris. Housing an 8 day two train cylinder movement striking half hourly on a bell, 54cm wide, 35.5cm high. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Case and dial in good order. Sold with a key and pendulum. Feather needs replacing so the pendulum will not currently hang. Both spring barrels intact. Bell strikes when the hands are advanced.

With a relief work copper plated pediment formed as a pair of lioness and an urn containing fruit over a balustrade, 30cm wide. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Hinge of the left inkwell damaged. Chipping to the glass liners. Balustrade loose and with some misshaping.

A pair of early 20th century French gilt bronze and alabaster twin branch figural lights. Each formed as a Classical semi clad maiden holding a large twin branch torch and raised on a square plinth, 46cm (2). Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. One sconce collar broken in two. The same sconce lacking its fastening finial bolt to the underside. Both need to be re wired. Bronze in good order.

Housing a Japy Freres 8 day cylinder movement striking on a bell, 37cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Case in good order. Left panel cracked. Dial clean. Sold with pendulum, feather broken.
