A Japanese Tokyo school bronze and ivory figure, signed Masatsune Saku, Meiji period (1868-1912), modelled as a man seated on a carved wood outcrop holding an opium pipe, signed to underside of figure, 39cm high overall CONDITION REPORT: Please note: Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory outside the EU. The government have proposed legislation to create a UK law to ban the sale of all ivory which may come into effect by the end of 2018 or early 2019. Please note this means that this lot is legal to sell now but may not be in the future. This items weights 4.7kg gross. Stained split to the top of his head. General surface staining and grubbiness evident. The base showing wear especially to high points and the sections where the feet sit. Head and chest slightly loose. See images for clarification.

Condition Report / Extra Information Age and handling wear all over, no dents of apparent repairs, no pitting, patina good, some very minor surface scratches, apparently unpolished.
