London Transport 1940s enamel BUS & COACH STOP FLAG (compulsory) of the type with two enamel plates inside a bronze frame. This is the first style of 'vertically split' bus & coach flags, introduced in the late-1940s, and evidenced by the background colour of the bar being the same colours as the circle. This was later changed to black for better legibility. A very scarce example in very good condition with minor blemishes only. [1]
London Transport 1930s/40s enamel BUS STOP FLAG (compulsory) of the type with two enamel plates inside a bronze frame. This is one of the very early examples of its type, introduced in the 1930s, and evidenced by the larger, bold lettering as well as grey, rather than black, reverse sides of the plates. A very scarce example in very good condition, with polished brass frame and minor blemishes only. [1]
London Transport (LPTB) bronze, framed OWNERSHIP SIGN from a bus garage with head office address of 55 Broadway. These signs were put up at all bus garages in the 1930s and, in 1948, the top halves were separated, inscribed 'London Transport' and reversed. This example has been re-fitted to its original state. Some touching in to some of the lettering but in good overall condition. [1]
London Transport 1940s/50s enamel BUS STOP FLAG (request) of the type with two enamel plates inside a bronze frame. This is one of a small number used in LT's Country Area which had frames with rounded corners as a safety measure, used particularly on telegraph poles where workmen would need to climb over the flag. A very scarce example in very good condition and complete with fixing rods. [1]
