Josef Lorenzl (Austrian 1892 - 1950), an art deco silvered bronze figure of a dancing girl with ivory head and hands, wearing a long off the shoulder dress with wide front split and held with outstretched arms, cold painted with pink flowers and green foliage, signed by 'Crejo' who was a friend of Lorenzl, raised on circular bronze base signed 'LORENZL' further raised on square stepped Brazilian green onyx base, 32cm high. Condition note: Hand has probably been re-fixed out of its intended position, some light spots of wear to silvering around cuffs and neckline of dress and right shin
Rare Winchester First Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" Carbine .44 rimfire, 20 inch barrel marked "Henrys Patent March 29th 1866". Simple flip up V sight. Lower mounted cartridge tube. Gunmetal bronze action with flat side loading gate. The reverse with single hanging ring. Central hammer. Lower loading lever. Polished wooden butt with brass, crescent butt plate. Polished wooden, short forend. Internal hidden serial number stamped "1722" and "14704". Signs of old repair to body tangs , and butt possibly a period replacement. Contained in a late 19th century, brown leather saddle holster. Some stitching faults. 1st Model example with serial number in the correct range 13000-15,500. Flat side example not flaring out to meet the forend. Flat loading gate used only on 1st Models. Hidden serial numbers until 21,000 then they appear on the lower tang. Correct with no half cock on the hammer.
ANONYMOUS (LATE QING DYNASTY) ANCESTOR PORTRAIT OF A MANCHU LADY A Chinese painting, ink and colour on silk, framed and glazed, 105cm x 64cm. Provenance: from the collection of the late Hubert René Joseph Georges Faure (1919-2020). Hubert Faure was the first husband of Elizabeth (Bessie) de Cuevas, who married when she was nineteen. Bessie was the daughter of Margaret Rockefeller, granddaughter of John D Rockefeller. A bronze bird entitled Poule Cayenne by François Pompon (1855-1933) from the same collection was sold at Christie's Paris on 14th April 2021, lot 184.

(4) Provenance: from the collection of Mr Richard Nathanson (d.2018). The pottery horse purchased from Nicholas Pitcher on 11th July 2013. The bronze hand purchased from Brandt Asian Art on 24th October 2006. The bronze head purchased from Peter Sloane c.2010.
A THAI GILT AND LACQUERED BRONZE GONG AND A TIBETAN POLYCHROME WOOD DAMARU 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY The gong decorated with a deity wearing an elaborate crown and body jewellery, he holds a raised boss painted with a hare, with swirling clouds around him, the scene surrounded by stylised scrolls, all suspending from leather ties, the ritual drum painted with cartouches depicting animals feasting on human corpses, the panels divided by skulls and human faces, with an inscription to the interior, 31.5cm and 19.2cm, the gong 1.6kg. (2) Cf. J Jeldres & B Dayde-Latham, Le Palais du Roi du Cambodge, p.25 for a comparable gong in the throne room of Cambodia's National Palace.
A KHMER BRONZE STANDING FIGURE OF UMA C.12TH CENTURY Depicted standing in samabhanga wearing a sampot, she extends her hands before her grasping a single flower, with elaborate jewellery adorning her body and a large crown upon her head, together with a later wood stand, 25cm, 804g. (2) Provenance: from a private collection, UK and USA, purchased from H M Luther Antiques, London, on 20th June 1969. A copy of the invoice is available.
A LARGE INDIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF PARVATI 19TH/20TH CENTURY Cast standing in tribhanga upon a lotus pedestal, holding her left hand at her side and her right hand in karana mudra, depicted wearing a dhoti and body jewellery, with her hair piled high and adorned with a crown decorated with a stylised animal mask, all raised on a square-section base incised with petal-shaped lappets, 77cm, 20kg.
A HIMALAYAN BRONZE FIGURE OF AN EIGHTEEN-ARMED BODHISATTVA ON A TALL STAND 19TH CENTURY Formed from many sections, the crowned figure cast holding many precious objects in his hands, with mythical beasts at his feet, the deity framed by a flaming aureole and a larger archway decorated with stylised leaves and a removable floral spray, all raised on a tall column terminating in a flared foot, with pendants suspending from the upper register, the stand decorated with lappets and foliate motifs, approx 102cm high and 14kg overall. (10) Provenance: from the collection of Lieutenant Colonel W D Francis OBE, who served in Central Asia, including in the Kurram Militia, during the early 20th century. He was awarded an OBE in 1946.

A CHINESE DUAN STONE BRUSH WASHER, A ROCK CRYSTAL CARVING AND A BRONZE MODEL OF A HORSE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD The brush washer carved to the rim with two bats amongst lingzhi picked out in a brown section of the stone, the rock crystal carving formed as horned mythical beast clutching a peach branch with a bird perching on it, the bronze horse cast in a recumbent pose gazing backwards, 14.5cm max, the bronze 132g. A CHINESE BRONZE FIGURE OF AN OFFICIAL MING DYNASTY He stands tall with his hands held before his chest, dressed in loose robes detailed at the edges with floral scrolls, the lower section of the garment embellished with strings of beads, his high-backed hat secured with a pin and a cord tied with a bow around his neck, with a content and serene expression on his well-defined face, 27.8cm, 1.3kg. A TIBETAN GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF PADMAPANI 18TH/19TH CENTURY Cast standing in tribhanga upon a lotus base, with one hand held before his bare chest and the other facing downwards at his side, wearing a dhoti incised with foliate scrolls, his blue hair held in place with an elaborate crown, all raised on a rectangular-section pedestal decorated with animals and vajras, with a visvavajra to the base, 16.1cm overall, 393g. (2) Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s, purchased from Errol Manners.
A CHINESE ARCHAISTIC BRONZE VASE MING/QING DYNASTY The ovoid body tapering towards the foot, decorated with stylised archaistic mythical creatures on a leiwen ground, flanked by two small loop handles suspending loose rings, with a band of key fret and upright lappets to the flared neck, 25.8cm, 2.2kg.
A CHINESE BRONZE MODEL OF AN ELEPHANT LATE QING DYNASTY The elephant cast standing four-square with its head turned to sinister, wearing an elaborate caparison incised with floral motifs, depicted supporting a large zun vase flanked by animal mask handles upon its back, all raised on a rectangular-section pedestal terminating in ruyi-shaped feet, 25cm, 3.3kg.
TWO CHINESE BRONZE FIGURES MING DYNASTY One cast as Kui Xing running, holding an ingot in one hand, he looks backwards with his mouth wide open revealing his pointed fangs, the other an incense stick holder formed as a figure seated upon a recumbent water buffalo, each together with a wood stand, 16.5cm and 12.3cm, 268g and 497g.
