Anschließend wirkte er als Lehrbeauftragter an der Hochschule für bildende Kunst Hamburg für die Techniken der Lithografie und Radierung. • Seine frühen Werke zeigen zerstückelte, disproportionierte Körper vor leerem Hintergrund. Vor allem in den sechziger Jahren nahm Wunderlich immer wieder Impulse aus verschiedenen Kunstrichtungen, hierbei vorzugsweise Elemente aus Art Déco und Jugendstil, in sein Werk auf und verarbeitete sie seinem Stil gemäß. • 1960 kam es zur Beschlagnahmung des Lithographie-Zyklus „qui s’explique“ durch die Hamburger Staatsanwaltschaft wegen unsittlicher Darstellungen. • Seine Arbeiten wurden unter anderem auf der documenta III, im Minneapolis Institute of Arts und in der Galerie Berggruen, Paris zu sehen. 2007 wurde in seiner Geburtsstadt Eberswalde das Paul-Wunderlich-Haus mit einer umfassenden Werkschau eröffnet.

Cette série de représentation des Parisiennes par Volti culmina, en 1992 par la création d’une sculpture en pierre de ce modèle, à Garges-lès-Gonesse, qui est, malheureusement, aujourd’hui disparue. Le modèle que nous présentons en vente aujourd’hui fait partie de cette série des Parisiennes et le numéro de fonte correspond à la numérotation de la sculpture qui a été exposée dans cinq musées d’état en Chine, de 2014 à 2015. Elle avait, par ailleurs, été retenue pour servir d’illustration pour une des affiches de ces expositions.
