ROY SHIFRIN (AMERICAN, BORN 1937), LOWER BODY, signed and dated 68 in the cast, numbered 2, bronze, on a wooden plinth. Bronze 85cmNote: Roy Shifrin was born in New York. He attended the City College of New York and graduated from The Cooper Union School of Art in Manhattan. He served in the military as an artist in Army Special Forces. In 1964 he left the US for six month trip to Europe which turned into a thirteen year stay. He has made his career in both the US and Europe.

A pair of mid-19th century French bronze figures of a young boy and girl, each seated and dressed in robes, raised on finely cast gilt bronze cylindrical plinths, cast with opposing musical putti, within classical form uprights to further cylindrical white marble bases, h.32cm. Both figures were probably holding something which is now missing.Her left arm and his right arm possibly replaced from elbow due to colour and patina differences.Modest age wear.Gilt slightly tarnished.

A 19th century gilt bronze and porcelain inset three-piece clock garniture, the clock surmounted with a pedestal urn over a porcelain dial, having Roman numerals, twin winding holes for a French brass eight day cylinder movement striking on a bell, the case inset with porcelain panels depicting classical figure and landscape scenes, h.44.5cm, the garniture modelled as a pair of pedestal urns with ormolu mounts and bases, each further inset with porcelain panels, h.36cm. Garniture – porcelain good (no chips or cracks), slightly grubby, some gilt wear.Clock – porcelain as per garniture, all gilt bronze good and complete, some modest tarnishing to extremities, no apparent restoration, clock working, with pendulum.
