A gold and platinum ring, mounted with the rectangular step cut sapphire at the centre, between two pairs of small cushion shaped diamonds, a 9ct two colour gold and diamond set single stone ring, claw set with a circular cut diamond and a gold and shell cameo ring, designed as the portrait of a lady.

Inscribed on recto, "Muirhead Bone to Mrs. Cunninghame Graham with kind regards", with explanatory note on verso by Admiral Sir Angus Cunninghame Graham, "He was lunching with us on board my flagship H.M.S. Birmingham at Portland..." With 3 photographs of naval interest (portrait of Admiral Sir Angus Cunninghame Graham, Admiral Sir Douglas Nicholson, 1920, and H.M.S. Kent 1942). (4)

With A.L.S. from Charles Darwin tipped in. Down, n.d., 3pp., 8vo., without form of address, "By the way in the pile of old letters just received I have found out that my Grandfather did get to Edinburgh before Charles died. The more I read of Dr. D, the higher he rises in my estimation...Pray forgive this very untidy letter, but I am tired to death with writing letters; half the fools throughout Europe write to ask me the stupidest questions". With an A.L.S. also tipped in from Elizabeth Darwin, [second wife of Erasmus Darwin] The Priory, (Derby) July 11th 1824, to Francis Jessop, one p., 4to. with integral address panel, inviting, him, his wife and sister to dinner. With two further letters from the Harleian Society regarding publication of the Pedigree. Charles, eldest son of Erasmus Darwin, died in 1778 while a medical student in Edinburgh, from a wound received in dissecting. See illustration.
INDENTURE, early 18th c. (reign of Queen Anne), relating to a house in the parish of Giggleswick, Yorkshire, ms. on vellum, one folded sheet. Sold with a small sketch book "Sketches of my Tour to Rome", comic scenes in pen and ink, with captions, c. 1876; and a folder containing 4 portrait watercolours, on black paper, apparently obtained from the spirit world, with accompanying A.L.S. from Margaret Bevan, 1954, "...my control Luigi got these 4 paintings for you." A Royal Doulton stoneware Lord Nelson commemorative teapot modelled with portrait roundel and a study of the HMS Victory both within rope work border, the collar moulded "England Expects Every Man Will Do His Duty", decorated in blue, green and brown, impressed marks 14cm high, restored; two stoneware beakers incised with leaves and applied with stylised flowers, impressed J Shillton, 29 George St, Lambeth, 9.5cm high.(3).
19th CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL, Flying Fox. A horse portrait. Oil on canvas. Inscribed to the reverse, "Flying Fox by Orme-Vampire, bred by the Duke of Westminster, foaled in 1896". 7 x 10ins. NOTE. Flying Fox was the last great horse raced by the first Duke of Westminster, his second Triple Crown winner, his first being, Flying Fox's grandsire, Ormonde. After the Duke's death Flying Fox was sold at auction for 37,500 guineas, at the time the highest price ever paid for a horse at auction. (See illustration)
