Late 19th Century Bohemian green glass vaseOf baluster form rising from a splayed base, the central tapered body detailed with a depiction of a young girl before foliage extending to a knopped and flared rim, the green glass with speckled gilt and gilt foliate and bird designs, 45cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Extensive rubbing to gilt on neck and rim. Also rubbing to gilt on foot. Some discolouration and rubbing to portrait. No chips or cracks.
dating: late 18th Century provenance: Naples, Smooth, two-stage, octagonal and round, 18 mm cal. barrel, with rings at the girdle, provided with foresight, marked 'FABR / DI / NAP' and lily-shaped stamps; the plate of the lock engraved with floral motifs, so as the other components, signed 'COSI PA'; wooden, half stock, butt with fuller, with remains of floral chiselling; brass mounts, trigger-guard with a female portrait and floral carving, en suite with the muzzle and the barrel-bracket; a crowned oval on the grip, with a woman's face held by two lions, butt-plate with upper plaque (detached) with an engraved gentleman. Another portrait and floral pattern on the counter-plate. length 142 cm.
