English School, Portrait of Princess Victoria,watercolour, signed B E Hill?,24.5x18cm.Condition report:Not inspected out of the frame. No evident tears or rips to the paper. Allover discolouration with age. Some lighter patches running down the line of her chin, collarbone and to the left of the central jewel. The top left corner has a dark arch which could be a shadow of an earlier oval-shaped mount, with a similar shadow faintly evident towards the lase of the portrait.
A postcard featuring a photographic portrait of England's first ever football goal scorer William Kenyon-Slaney, postmarked 1906, at the time Slaney was a member of Parliament for the Northern (Newport) Division of Shropshire, the reverse addressed to Church Stretton in Shropshire, good condition; sold together with a press cutting relating to Kenyon-Slaney, (2)England first international was drawn 0-0 against Scotland, but William Kenyon-Slaney scored in the first minute of a 4-2 win in the return fixture at the Kennington Oval on 8th March 1873, making him England's first ever goal scorer. He added a second goal in the game in this his only England appearance. He also played first class cricket and was decorated for his exploits in the battle of Tel el-Kebir in 1882.
Football Association illuminated citation awarded to Arsenal's Jack Crayston for his wartime international appearance for England v Wales, 11th November 1939,bearing facsimile signatures for FA Officials, dated April 1946, mounted, unframed, 39 by 33cm., and sold together with a Topical Times colour portrait panel card featuring Crayston, (2)The usual award for international appearances was a cap, however this was expensive and suspended for the duration of the WWII. The FA retrospectively awarded a citation to every player who was selected for wartime internationals.
