An Apulian red-figure volute krater circa 4th century BC painted with a white ionic naiskos with a seated naked male figure holding a ribbed tray, the neck with a winged female head with seven rosettes above, the other side with a large female portrait head and a palmette to the neck and further palmettes below the handles, the handles with masks and with swan necks to the shoulders, 53.5cm high.

She would grow up to become the leading British fashion designer that we know today. These two shots were printed either side of a third shot used in the 'Sisters Under the Skin' book, with 'Mama's Little Girl' noted with it. Seven French faïence plates probably 19th century, four decorated with Revolutionary subjects including a putto holding a banner titled 'La Paix' above the date 1791, one painted in manganese with a profile portrait titled 'W Le Roy 1790', one with a cornucopia and the date 1793, another with crossed tricolore flags either side of an orb, three variously decorated with flowers, a Quimper two-handled dish painted with a Breton lady, and a bowl painted with a woman carrying a furled umbrella, some damages, 28cm max. A London delftware blue dash Royal charger c.1702, painted in blue, green and yellow with a full-length portrait of Queen Anne, seated and holding an orb and sceptre, flanked by blue sponged trees, inscribed 'A R', all within concentric narrow blue and yellow bands inside a blue dash rim, the underside decorated in a buff glaze, a rim crack, 30cm. Provenance: acquired from Sotheby's, 15th December 1964, lot 55.
A London delftware blue dash Royal charger c.1690, painted with a full length equestrian portrait of King William III, astride his horse jumping a low fence, inscribed 'KW' and flanked by blue sponged trees within a yellow line border and blue dash rim, restored, 33.7cm. A London delftware Royal portrait plate c.1690, painted with the double portrait of William and Mary, each wearing a crown, William III in an ermine-edged robe, titled 'W M R' between the figures, all within three narrow concentric blue bands, cracked, 22cm. Provenance: acquired from Sotheby's, c.1962.
A Bristol delftware punchbowl of Jacobite relevance c.1746, painted in blue to the interior with the profile portrait of the Duke of Cumberland, depicted in Classical manner wearing a laurel diadem, inscribed 'D W For Ever', the exterior painted in blue and manganese with four panels containing chickens, a section broken out and cleanly repaired, 26.4cm. Provenance: acquired from Sotheby's, 10th March 1981, lot 110, formerly in the collection of Louis L Lipski, no. 1247. DW (or Duke William) was the youngest son of George II and commanded the royalist forces during the Jacobite Uprising, defeating the Stuart rebels at the Battle of Culloden in April 1746.

Velvet frames very worn. The gilt slips are different to each, his being plain, hers having a tooled border. Hers has a couple of small areas of what looks like glue residue between glass and gilt slip. She also has a tiny speck of perhaps glue residue to one side of her mouth. Generally the paintings look in good condition, his face has a slight blue tinge - I am unsure if this is intentional.

Aftr Sir Thomas Lawrence/Portrait of the Duke of Wellington and/After Paul Delaroche/Portrait of Bonaparte/a pair/oil, 34cm x 29cm CONDITION REPORT: These paintings are copies of the well-known portraits of Wellington and Napoleon by Thomas Lawrence and Paul Delaroche respectively. They date to the mid-late 19th Century and are in oil on canvas. Both look to need a light clean and revarnish. There are some minor losses to the frame which would require specialist restoration.

A 16th Century North German oak coffer (restorations) the rectangular plank top above five gothic panels with saints and birds on a shaped base, the sides further carved with birds and portrait roundels, the cast iron lock-plate with stylised figures and foliage, 93cm high x 177cm wide x 72cm deep/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: This substantial chest has had much restoration but the carved panels are very fine. There are many areas of historic worm, wear and tear commensurate with age. The plinth has been replaced, the projecting columns between the panels are later replacements. Some of the floral garlands above the panels are replaced. On the left hand side the upper rail is later. The lock and hinges are not the original. This restoration work most likely dates to the mid 20th Century
