A mid 18th century tortoiseshell and gilt metal snuff box of rectangular form decorated in low relief with chinoiserie, the cover with a central ho-ho bird within a rococo scroll border enclosing a portrait under glass of Charles Prince of Brunswick, the sides carved with pergolas, cornucopiae and rocaille 8.2cm wide, 3.8cm high, 6.2cm deep Note: according to a note attached, this box belonged to The Hon. Gerald Ponsonby and his daughter Geraldine, Countess of Mayo, godmother to Mary Desborough Craster (ancestor of the vendor).

A 19th century French gold locket, the front set an enamelled portrait miniature of a lady in profile, wearing a crown and ruff collar. Her gown and crown are both set with diamond chips. The portrait is set within a pearl bead and blue-enamelled border. The suspension loop and ribbon surmount are both diamond-set. The reverse with a glazed hair compartment. (See illustration)
