TWO INTERESTING EARLY 20TH-CENTURY SOUVENIR ALBUMS CHARTING A ROUND-THE-WORLD VOYAGE ON BOARD AN OCEAN-GOING LINER, S.S.Militiades of the Aberdeen Line, the voyage commenced on 11th April 1906, the first album, of landscape format with black morocco covers, comprising annotated photographs of the voyage, the route taking in Tenerife, Cape Town, Sydney, Melbourne, a tour of the Blue Mountains, Fiji (Suva), Honolulu, and a tour through Canada by rail, the second album, of portrait format with red morocco covers, comprising postcards, cuttings, pamphlets and other ephemera matching the first, together with two tinted photographs of S.S.Militidaes, one with surrounding autographs of the crew, the other with autographs of the Quoits teams on-board, dated April 25th 1906, with records of results, (a lot)

A portrait miniature on ivory of a young girl "Lizzie", seated beside a red squirrel, oval, 13cm x 9.7cm, (5in x 3.8in) in gilt slip and ornate gilt frame within a plush-lined glazed mahogany box-frame, 29.5cm x 25.5cm, (11.5in x 10.2in) overall, (labelled verso in ink in a contemporary hand: "No 3./Lizzie a Portrait/Painted by Miss C G Cruikshank,/20 Clarendon Road/S.Kensington")
Adriaen Hanneman, (1604-1671) [Attrib.]. A PORTRAIT OF MARIA HENRIETTA STUART, (1631-1660), PRINCESS OF ORANGE, seen half-length beside a table, her elaborate coiffeur with fringe of curls and wearing a double pearl drop ear-rings, pearl necklace and various pearl and gem -set adornments to her silk dress. Her right hand rests on a jewelled crown and in her left she holds a rose. Behind her to her left an open window shows a landscape with trees beyond. Apparently unsigned, 103.5cm x 82cm, (40.75in x 32.3in), in later ripple-mounted ebonised frame, with gilt hanging label insc ribed: "MARY PRINCESS OF ORANGE - DAUGHTER OF CHARLES I -BY ADRIAAN HANNEMAN - 1611-1680" (sic)
Large French clock garniture, circa 1900, the four-glass clock striking the half with an enamelled portrait and diamante pendulum, porcelain face painted with swags and set with a diamante ring, in a gilt brass and champleve case, together with a pair of matching candelabra side ornaments. James Loder of Bath (1784-1860), Portrait of Colonel Bouverie on Mr. Hobson's Challenger, oil on canvas, signed and inscribed Bath 1837 lower right, 58.5 x 76.5cm, bears paper label verso inscribed General (then Colonel) Everard William Bouverie on Mr. Hobson's ch. colt 'Challenger' with which he won four races in 1836, and a second paper label with indistinct inscription.
