Fine gold box decorated with an enamel portrait of HRH Prince George - The Prince Regent after Sir Thomas Lawrence and the Royal Arms of The Prince Regent - the box of rectangular form with engine-turned decoration and cast wreath surrounds to enamel panels - unhallmarked but two small maker's marks 'ET', 5.7cm wide, 4.5cm deep, 3cm high CONDITION REPORT Box weighs 109 grams. In good condition overall- some solder showing around framing of portrait- both enamels in good order- some minor scratches to box commensurate with age
*Richard Stone (born 1951) oil on board, figure study for a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II wearing state robes and a diamond diadem - in carved gilt wood frame, 25cm x 19cm. This figure study was painted from sittings at Buckingham Palace 1989-1991. The larger finished portrait was officially unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery and subsequently presented to Colchester Borough Council by the artist in February 1992. Provenance: Purchased by the vendor from Partridge Fine Art from their exhibition 'Richard Stone Notable Portraits' November 2004. Fine quality 18th century portrait miniature of a noble gentleman in powdered wig, wearing a blue coat, in oval glazed gold frame with pendant fitting, 47mm x 41mm, in a Victorian leather case CONDITION REPORT Very good condition Very fine quality. Painting in good clean condition. There is loose dirt underneath the glass around the edge. The frame would appear to be gold but has not been tested by us although there is a small file mark on the side indicating that it may have been tested in the past. No signs of any base metal showing through, very small dent to the back. The panel might be enamel rather than painted on ivory

Stretcher marks and some deterioration associated particularly lower left - areas of paint loss, suggestion of a patch lower right (4 o'clock) near edge, small area of restoration towards edge at 3 o',clock, another area at 11 o'clock. Elsewhere slight paint loss and some general restoration but picture now appears stable and presents well
