A VICTORIAN BOWIE KNIFE BY W. BUTCHER, SHEFFIELD, with 9in. clip-pointed blade signed at the forte and engraved on one side with a stag being hunted by two hounds and a mounted huntsman in Western costume, the portrait bust of a man named 'OLD ZACK', a 'LIBERTY' cap, and a ribbon bearing the legend 'CALIFORNIA HUNTING KNIFE', German silver guard and grip, chequered hardwood grip-scales, one with silver plaque, the back-edge of the grip with folding pick, in original German silver mounted green leather covered scabbard, the leather tooled with traces of gilding in the pattern.
